It's Never Too Early

Dear Parents,

It is never to early to begin reading with your children. Your children will associate reading as a fun activity based on these early experiences. During the school, we will be motivating students to read. TEKS suggests tht "prekindergarten children benefit from environments that associate reading with pleasure and enjoyment as well as learning and skill development."

1. At the Nursery Rhymes Coloring Pages website, you can print out nursery rhymes coloring pages. As your child has fun coloring, you and your child can read and learn the nursery rhymes together. You also have access to other activities to do with your child for each nursery rhyme.

2. Going to the library is a great way to motivate your children. When you are not able to visit an actual library, you can visit the Children's Storybooks Online. Here you can read books online and some even have sound involved.

3. As your children begin reading, they will begin to have their favorite stories read over and over. At Childhood Reading, you can find those childhood classics and read them over and over again. For the books that you do not have at home, this site will a wonderful site to go back to and read over again.
